Upcoming Live Sets on Studio One Tracks

Mar 21, 2017

We have some great live sets coming up on Studio One Tracks in the next couple of months, both in IPR's Cedar Falls studios and at the Basement venue of the Des Moines Social Club!

IPR's Cedar Falls studios have been a longtime favorite of musicians and audience members alike.  Performers have consistently complimented us on the room's acoustics, and we can accommodate an audience of around 40 (or more) for our free shows.  We're on the third floor of the Communication Arts Center on the UNI campus in Cedar Falls.  Here's the lineup for the coming weeks (with the possibility of more bands being added):

Thursday, March 23rd- Dickie

Veteran Iowa songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Dick Prall, along with violinist and vocalist Kristina Priceman form the core of Dickie.  For their Studio One set, they'll be joined by Tyler Stuck on drums and vocals.  We'll hear songs from the debut album Dickie.

Thursday, May 11- Elizabeth Moen

We've previously featured rising young songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Elizabeth Moen performing on our Studio One Underground series in Des  Moines.  Liz is back in Iowa after a European tour, and she'll play songs from her forthcoming full-length album, live in our Cedar Falls studios this time.

Tuesday, May 16-  Foxholes

We've previously featured the Des Moines band Foxholes on our IPR Studio One stage at the 80/35 Festival.  They also have a new full-length record coming out soon, and Foxholes will bring that new music to our Cedar Falls studios.

Our monthly series of Studio One Underground live broadcasts has been a great success, and we'll continue those shows in the coming months from the Basement of the Des Moines Social Club!

Thursday, April 6- separate sets from Bo Ramsey and Pieta Brown

Celebrated Iowa guitarist, songwriter and producer Bo Ramsey will perform for the first set.  His latest album is the guitar showcase, Wildwood Calling.

The second set of the evening will be from Pieta Brown.  Her latest album, Postcards features Bo Ramsey, as well as a variety of guest musicians Pieta invited to add their own parts to the songs she had been writing on the road.

Thursday, May 4- Adam Bruce

Singer and songwriter Adam Bruce is a veteran of a variety of Des Moines bands, including the alt-country group New Bodies.  Adam currently performs as a duo with his wife April Lynn, and has a debut EP coming out in June.

Thursday, June 1- Middle Western

In June of 2016, we featured a live performance from this band, led by Iowa songwriters and musicians David Zollo and William Elliott Whitmore.  That was for the Iowa Music Project Songwriting Showcase launch event.  We're happy to have Middle Western back for more, one year later.

Come out for some great live music, and be part of our IPR Studio One live broadcasts!
