Iowa Public Radio Names Three Executive Director Finalists

Iowa Public Radio has named three finalists for its executive director position.

According to a press release, the finalists are:

Debra J. Fraser, former Chief Operating Officer and Station Manager at Houston Public Media; Myrna Johnson, Executive Director for the Boston Schoolyard Initiative; and William R. Reed, a former private-sector media executive and Midwest-based marketing consultant.

IPR began a nationwide search for an executive director in April. Former CEO Mary Grace Herrington was fired from the top job in late February.

Search committee chairman and Iowa Public Radio Board member Doug West says he’s pleased to have three “highly qualified candidates with diverse experiential backgrounds” as executive director finalists.

The three are scheduled to visit Iowa and meet with staff in late October, when they will participate in public forums.

IPR will be accepting comments about the candidates online from 5 pm. October 22 to 5 p.m. October 25.
