The 2015 Wapsipinicon Almanac

The 2015 Wapsipinicon Almanac is now available. Publisher Tim Fay of Anamosa says that even after 21 issues, there has been no shortage of material to write about.

During this hour of Talk of Iowa, host Charity Nebbe talks with Fay about the almanac. He says he prints about 1500 copies on a traditional letter press every year. Fay has got a loyal following and says his contributors come from all over the state.

"It's a process. I contact about 50 percent of my contributors, and then the others get a hold of me. I do pretty much all the editing myself, but I have friends that I pass things along to."

Fay attributes his following to the fact that there's "just not anything else quite like" the Wapsipincon Almanac. Cynthia Cechota, Robert Leonard, Suzanne Kelsey and Bill Douglas, who all contributed to this year's almanac, join the conversation.
