The festival, hosted by Iowa City’s Englert Theatre, boasts an impressive returning lineup, including Best New Artist Grammy nominee Arooj Aftab, L.A. electropop outfit Son Lux, Portland singer-songwriter Haley Heyndrickx, headliners Beach Bunny and Soccer Mommy, and more. Local acts include Elizabeth Moen, Ramona & The Sometimes, Good Morning Midnight, Wave Cage, and more.
“This year’s festival is a return to normalcy,” the press release for the event said. “The festival was set to have its 15th iteration in April of 2020 before being canceled due to the pandemic.”
Mission Creek is also a celebration of Iowa City’s literature legacy. More than twelve authors will hold readings over the course of the three-day festival. All literature events are free and open to the public.
The festival will also host free community-minded programming over the weekend, including the Big Free Show at Big Grove Brewery’s Iowa City location and the ICE CREAM Comics + Zine Fair.
Three-day passes are available now, with early bird specials running until 9:30 AM on Tuesday, December 21. Day passes will be available starting the 21st.
