The French group Phoenix have been recording since 2000, further refining their synthesizer-based sound on their fifth full-length studio album Bankrupt!  The new release is vibrant and energetic, with a vibe that is definitely '80s synth pop.  Interestingly, Phoenix purchased the console used in the making of Michael Jackson's Thriller to mix the songs on Bankrupt!
