Murky Waters and Pi Day

Though Iowa’s rivers and streams may look particularly scummy or murky, the DNR says the state’s waterways are perfectly fine. The murky appearance is caused by organic matter and is safe.

Politics Day

President Obama gave his second inaugural address this week, in which he outlined several goals for his coming term. Ben Keiffer breaks down the speech and talks about which goals are politically possible with Donna Hoffman of the University of Northern Iowa and Tim Hagle of the University of Iowa.

Then, discussion over the remarks made by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during the Senate committee hearing on Benghazi and the recent House vote to extend the debt limit.

Politics Day: Obama's Iowa Visit and the Middle Class

President Obama addressed tax cuts for the middle class at his stop in Cedar Rapids Tuesday. On this Politics Day, IPR’s Dean Borg talks with political scientists Tim Hagle from the University of Iowa and Donna Hoffman from the University of Northern Iowa about the President’s visit as both Obama and Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, make their appeals to the middle class.
