You Can be Fit, but Fat

CDC
The number on the scale doesn't tell the whole story, when it comes to fitness vs. fatness

"For virtually any health outcome... ...people who are fat, but fit have no increased risk."  Host Charity Nebbe talks with Steven Blair, an exercise scientist from South Carolina.  He says we're approaching the obesity crisis in this country all wrong.  "There is no compelling evidence that Americans are eating any more now than they were 30 or 40 years ago."  So, he says the problem has to be on the other side of the energy equation.  They discuss how our occupational and household activity levels have declined, and how a person's appearance may not be a good indication of their overall fitness.
