Wildlife Day: Chronic Wasting Disease

D. Gordon E. Robertson

Chronic Wasting Disease has made its first appearance in white tailed deer in Iowa. It’s a neurological disorder in which the animals lose weight, display abnormal behavior and eventually die.

Today, it's our monthly wildlife program and Charity Nebbe's guest is Wildlife Biologist Jim Pease of Ames.   We’ll talk about white tailed deer in Iowa and what the arrival of Chronic Wasting Disease means. We’ll also talk about what the drought means for wildlife.

Charity Nebbe is the host of IPR's Talk of Iowa
