University Sabbaticals & Expanding Passenger Rail

Republicans in the Iowa House, last week, approved a budget cutting bill which among other things would cut funding for sabbaticals at the state's public universities. The bill would also eliminate state funding to expand passenger rail service from Chicago to Iowa City. Host Jeneane Beck from the Law Library at the State Capitol talks with lawmakers who support the proposal and with those who are against it. Guests include Representative Nick Wagner (R-Marion), Representative Jason Schultz (R-Schleswig), Tom Casavant, Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Iowa, and Nancy Quellhorst, President and CEO of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.
