Music from Wagner’s early opera Lohengrin is followed by the world premiere of a new work by Emmy Award-winning composer Steve Heitzeg, commissioned to commemorate the seventy-fifth anniversary season of the Des Moines Symphony. Closing the program is Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, an exotic four-movement suite inspired by the Arabian Nights.
