The 10th Annual Mission Creek Festival in Iowa City kicks off today with a variety of events ranging from literary readings to cultural food tastings. The festival runs until Sunday, April 5 and you can hear Studio One's live broadcast of several music events throughout the weekend. You can even join us in person while we broadcast live from The IPR Lounge at The Java House in Iowa City.
On Thursday, Ben Kieffer will be hosting an acoustic set by Ryley Walker at The Java House. There will also be an interview with the indie rock band, Real Estate. Mark Simmet will be simultaneously hosting Des Moines's The Maytags from the Des Moines Social Club on Thursday night. Iowa Public Radio will be broadcasting all of these events from 7-9 pm.
On Friday, Mark Simmet will be hosting acoustic sets with experimental guitarist Tashi Dorji along with Sir Richard Bishop and the experimental pop group, Golden Birds, from 7-9 pm.
Join as at The Java House on Saturday to watch interviews with SQURL and Diamond Rugs from 7:00-8:30 pm.
