South Pacific Sneak Peek: Podcast

 The Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre’s Young Artists stopped by Iowa Public Radio’s Studio One at noon yesterday to present highlights from the CROT’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s award-winning South Pacific. The CROT’s principal cast members soprano Erin Bryan appeared as the Navy nurse, Nellie Forbush; Baritone Kyle Roeder performed as the French Plantation owner, Emile de Beque; Mezzo-Soprano, Jessica Kasinski sang the role of Bloody Mary; and Tenor, Jack Cotterell executed the part of Marine Lieutenant Cable. The principals and the ensemble presented many favorites from the show. Ensemble members included: Soprano Erin Persick, Mezzo-Soprano Jill Morgan, Mezzo-Soprano Anjali Khankari, Mezzo-soprano Corie Auger, Baritone Rudy Cammel, Baritone Andrew Kecy, and Bass Samuel Nolte. Dr. John Hollins is the CROT’s guest music director and conductor for South Pacific, and the CROT’s founder and artistic director, Dr. Daniel Kleinknecht, performed at the piano with all the singers.
