Waverly Mayor Charles Infelt and Wartburg's Graham Garner unveil the poster for the Genlemen of the Road Tour

Waverly or more specifically, Wartburg College will be the site of an international music festival this spring.

The Grammy award winning British folk rock band Mumford and Sons will be in Waverly June 19 and 20 as part of their 2015 Gentlemen of the Road tour. Wartburg College Vice President for Marketing and Communication, Graham Garner says the event is one of only four “stopover” locations. He says “this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we are so excited to be a partner in making this happen.”

Organizers are expecting more than 35 thousand people to attend the festival which Chamber of Commerce Director Travis Toliver says will translate into a huge economic boost. He says “the estimates that we’ve been given by Gentlemen of the Road from other previous stops has been 30 million dollars.”

Mumford and Sons will be joined by at least eight other artists. Tickets, which include opportunities for overnight camping, go on sale this Friday.
