Apes or hominoids are all descendants of a common ancestor.

Acclaimed evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins returns to Iowa this Saturday.  Dawkins will speak at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines at a ticketed event put on by SecularityUSA, which advocates for secularism in American government.

River to River listens back to a November 2009 conversation with Dawkins.  Host Ben Kieffer spoke with the scientist and writer near the 150 anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin's seminal work on evolution, "On the Origins of the Species."

They discuss Dawkin's latest book "The Greatest Show on Earth: The evidence for Evolution," Darwin and the principles of evolution.
