Peter Hamlin to Co-Host Fund Drive

Yes, he’s back!

Composer Peter Hamlin will return as a guest co-host during IPR’s Classical fund drive this Friday, September 25th between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Peter is currently a professor of music theory, electronic music, and composition at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. Peter was a long-time radio host on Iowa Public Radio’s KUNI-KHKE as well as serving as a fine arts and state fair host for 30 years on IPTV. Peter’s brand new piece entitled Symphony on a Stick, inspired by the Iowa State Fair, will get its world premiere this weekend as part of the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks Season Debut concert at the Des Moines Civic Center. Hear Peter talk about his new work and catch up on the happenings of the Cedar Valley.

And a special bonus to our Classical audience, the DMSO has graciously donated 100 DVDs of their Symphony in Sculpture to be given to the first 100 listeners who pledge their support to IPR Classical while Peter makes his guest appearance. For those in the area, Peter really wants to hobnob with as many of his friends and listeners as he can. If you have the time and inclination please drop by and see him at IPR's Cedar Falls studios. Plus we’d love to see you too.

Please tune in and enjoy Peter’s mellifluous Hamlin knack of making the best classical radio announcing you’ll ever hear.
