As the Cedar Valley Chamber Music Festival’s sixth season prepares to open on July 21, Iowa Public Radio’s Performance Iowa series proudly presents a broadcast of the festival’s opening concert from their 2011 season, titled Gypsy Airs and Hungarian Dances. Founded in 2006, the CVCMF strives to bring classical music to new audiences in uniquely diverse venues. This program includes performances of Tajčević’s Seven Balkan Dances, Dvořák’s Gypsy Songs Op. 55 and Brahms’ Piano Quartet in G minor Op. 25.
