gapowell / flickr
We are losing 6,000 acres of potential monarch/pollinator habitat a day in the United Stated due to development (2.2 million acres per year).

I need to be more ruthless. At some point you need to let [struggling/dead plants] go. - Richard Jauron, on his New Year's resolution

On this Horticulture Day edition of Talk of Iowa, Charity Nebbe talks with Iowa State University Extension entomologist, Donald Lewis, about the monarch butterfly and the process to put it on the Endangered Species List.

Then, Iowa State University Extension horticulturist Richard Jauron and Cindy Haynes, associate professor of horticulture at Iowa State, talk about New Year's resolutions for our gardens.
