To mark the launch of their new black history section, theGrio.com this month unveiled "theGrio's 100: History Makers in the Making." The list honors Black History month by highlighting the next generation of African-American history makers and industry leaders who have the potential to make a difference in the lives of all Americans. IPR's Charity Nebbe speaks to the Iowan who made the list, Kittie Weston-Knauer of Des Moines, long-time teacher, principal, consultant, adjunct-professor at Drake University and one of the first competitive female BMX racers in the United States.
