According to a new study of more than 13,000 adolescents, Iowa State University psychology professor Doug Gentile, along with a team of French researchers, finds a link between video game exposure and sexism.

On this news buzz edition of River to River, Ben Kieffer talks with Gentile, as well as: IPR statehouse correspondent Joyce Russell about what's happening in the Iowa Legislature; IPR Eastern Iowa reporter Katarina Sostaric about how Johnson County business owners are reacting to local and state laws regarding the minimum wage; Krystal Parker, assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Iowa, about a lab study that shows a positive correlation between brain stimulation in rats and the reduction of schizophrenia-like thinking patterns; Victoria Daniels of the Iowa Department of Revenue about preventing identify fraud during tax season; and IPR executive director, Myrna Johnson, about President Trump's proposed budget that would cut funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
