On this River to River segment, host Ben Kieffer talks with Jim Davis, associate professor of information systems at Iowa State University, and two Iowa State University students, Steff Bisinger and Jason Johnson, about what it’s like to work in the booming field of cyber security.

Bisinger and Johnson, along with other team members, recently won a national competition, the National Cyber Analyst Challenge, where they combed through massive amounts of data to find a security breach. The scenario they worked on is one that all businesses must deal with on a regular basis. For their effort, the ISU team won $25,000.

Jason Johnson is a graduate student in information assurance and political science, and Steff Bisinger is a senior in software engineering. They worked alongside their teammates, Angela McMahon, Sambhav Srirama, and Matt Brown.
