Iowa's Rising Waters

Iowa’s rivers and reservoirs have not reached flood stages of 1993 or 2008, but many communities are still dealing with significant flooding.

And it seems like we’re having more frequent severe flooding in Iowa. Are we?

During this Talk of Iowa interview, Charity Nebbe talks with Gary Taylor, who studies community planning at Iowa State University. He says communities deal with flooding as a function of poor city planning. Gene Takle, director of the Climate Science Program at Iowa State University and with Gabriele Villarini, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Iowa also join the conversation.
