Think back to the first time you heard this statement - "Corporations are people, my friend."

That was Mitt Romney at the Iowa State Fair in 2011. In this River to River segment, this year's political soap box banter at the fair. IPR's Joyce Russell and Kathie Obradovich of the Des Moines Register share highlights and insights from the fair's political speeches.

Some call it cyber bullying, some say it's hilarious; the "People of the Iowa State Fair" Facebook page is generating some conversation. Officials at the Iowa State Fair say they are "not affiliated in any way" with the page, and have even asked Facebook to take it down.

Joining us to talk about cyber civility and the challenges of public relations in an era of Facebook pages, blogs, and memes are guests: Erin Wilgenbusch, Senior Lecturer in the ISU Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, and Rachel Young, Assistant Professor in the UI School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

And, long-time Des Moines Register reporter Kyle Munson has been covering the fair for years. In this segment, he shares his experiences from this year's festivities.
