Iowa Arts Showcase: Shattered Glass Tours Iowa

Brian Hatton
Shattered Glass Ensemble at Carnegie Hall

Shattered Glass will be presenting an exciting concert series across Iowa performing various works for string orchestra.

Shattered Glass is a sixteen member conductor-less string orchestra based in New York City and very much a product of the 21st century. Virtuosic and versatile, Shattered Glass balances vibrant excitement with a meticulous respect for piece, composer, and tradition. With a repertoire that ranges from Bach, Britten and Bartok to Schoenberg and Stravinsky, Shattered Glass has also been active in innovative crossover collaborations with Grammy-award winning pop and hip-hop artists. At their core is a commitment to building a special relationship with audiences by tailoring each performance to specific audiences and venues. Listeners can’t help but experience a connection with every one of the musicians and barriers typical of the classical music experience are, well, shattered! See their concert schedule below:

April 4th – Northwestern College – Orange City

April 5th – North Iowa Area Community College – Mason City

April 6th – Iowa State Center – Ames

April 7th – Spencer Community Center – Spencer

Jacqueline Halbloom is a Sr. Music Producer and Classical Music Host
