History Day: The Changing Design of Iowa Towns

Since Iowa became a state in 1846, how did our towns develop? We'll hear about the state's Scandinavian, Dutch, German Catholic/Lutheran and other communities and the development of trade centers (county seats) versus small towns, plus the modern-day challenges facing our towns and cities. Guests are historian Loren Horton of Iowa City and Iowa State University Sociology Professor, Paul Lasley.

Charity Nebbe is the host of IPR's Talk of Iowa
