Hear Paste's "Iowa Bands You Should Listen To Now" on IPR Studio One!

Listeners of Iowa Public Radio's Studio One know that Iowa has a thriving music scene, and that bringing the music of these talented artists to a larger audience is a key part of IPR's mission. And now, some of those artists are receiving recognition from outside our home state.

As part of their "50 States Project," the online magazine Paste recently published a list called "12 Iowa Bands You Should Listen To Now." You'll notice a lot of familiar names on that list: most of these artists have had their music played on Studio One, and several have performed live in the IPR studios! Check out some exclusive IPR recordings by some of these bands right here.

Of course, this list doesn't come close to covering the wide variety of amazing music we have here in Iowa. Tune to Studio One every weeknight at 7 pm to hear artists from all over the state, along with the best new independent and alternative music, and some of your old favorites. And if you're a songwriter or in a band, or know someone who is, don't hesitate to contact us about having your music played on Studio One.

Congratulations to all of the bands featured in this article!
