We'd all love for our homes to be "green" and have the utility company pay US. But how practical is it for a homeowner to install and pay for solar panels, geothermal systems or even a wind turbine? We'll talk to Keith Kutz of the Iowa Energy Center in Ames; Carole Yates of the Center for Energy and Environmental Education at the University of Northern Iowa; and Carole's husband Jack Yates, a psychology professor at UNI who has installed two solar systems on their home and had geothermal installed last year.
