Oct 10, 2013

Tune in tonight at 7 as Marin Alsop conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Tchaikovsky's last symphony, a heartfelt emotional journey known as the "Pathetique," and in a beautiful work by the Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov, Azul. Composed for Yo-Yo Ma, Azul is now being performed by other cellists, including the soloist in this concert, Joshua Roman.

Osvaldo Golijov, who was born in 1960 to an Eastern European Jewish family in Argentina, moved as a young man to Israel, and now lives in the USA.
