Featured Release This Week From Dinosaur Jr.

J Mascis (guitar, vocals), Lou Barlow (bass, vocals), and drummer Murph formed Dinosaur in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1984.  After a couple of albums were released, a group called Dinosaurs, comprised of veterans of some of the most notable San Francisco bands of the 1960's, sued the younger Dinosaur over the use of the name.  Thus they became Dinosaur Jr., with more years of the typical rock band ups and downs ahead of them.  In 1997, with Mascis the only remaining original member, the group disbanded.  In 2005, the three founding members revived Dinosaur Jr., and they've kept that lineup in place ever since.  Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not is the eleventh studio album from the band, with their distinctive sound intact and thriving.  By the way, Dinosaurs, the band of veteran San Francisco players, became extinct in 1996.
