Farm Practices Threaten Bee Colonies

Gardeners and growers depend on the free labor of pollinators to produce fruits and vegetables. One of our most important pollinators, the honey bee, is in trouble world wide. This hour, new research gives us an insight as to why.

Host Charity Nebbe talks with Amy Toth, an assistant professor of ecology, evolution and organismal biology at Iowa State University. Then entomologist Laura Jesse of the Plant and Insect Diagnostic clinic at Iowa State University joins with an Emerald Ash Borer update, and Iowa State University Extension horticulturist Richard Jauron answers listener questions.
