Cut a rug with the Dandelion Stompers

Nov 8, 2016

In this boot-stompin' episode of IPR Studio One's "Java Blend," Iowa's old-time jazz group The Dandelion Stompers stopped by The Java House in downtown Iowa City- and the toes were tapping.

Lend an ear to the downloadable podcast below for some jazz standards steeped in New Orleans tradition.

The Dandelion Stompers may be new to the Iowa City music scene, but they feature some familiar faces. They are composed of Chris Clark on saxophones, Ira Greenstein on trumpet, Brandi Janssen on bass, Marc Janssen on guitar, Katie Roche on vocals, Suzanne Smith on clarinet, and Jacob Yarrow on alto sax. The Dandelion Stompers bring you New Orleans jazz with all the trimmings. Start with a grade-A rhythm section, add a savory selection of horns, round out the mixture with hot and spicy vocals and you've got a recipe for Dandelion gumbo!
