Cultural and Educational Pushes in the Middle East

Feb 12, 2013

Two years after the Arab Spring, those living in the Middle East are still striving towards democratic governance. Our guest this hour tells us why education and cultural understanding are key to this development.

Today on the program, Jay Taylor, of the NGO, Higher Education for Development, joins us to talk about his work promoting educational and cultural exchanges overseas. He’ll tell us how these programs are improving U.S. relations abroad, and where there is still room for improvement. In the second half, we listen back to a conversation with Rae Heim, a Carroll native who ran barefoot across the country last year, from Massachusetts to California.
