During Curt Snook’s program in the 11 a.m. hour, Jason Weinberger, director of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony and Indie singer-songwriter Gabriel Kahane, join IPR’s Jacqueline Halbloom to discuss the WCFSO’s opening performance of the season on Saturday, September 22nd at 7:30 p.m. The program includes Kahane singing and performing on guitar and piano with the orchestra his 2012 work called Crane Palimpsest for Baritone and Chamber Orchestra. They discuss Purcell’s incidental music to the Fairy Queen and Beethoven’s famous Pastoral Symphony. Gabriel and Jason also invited listeners to Gabriel’s Live from Studio One appearance that evening during the 7 o’clock hour with IPR’s Studio One host and producer, Mark Simmet.
