AM is the fifth studio album from the British band Arctic Monkeys. The band formed in 2002 in High Green, a suburb of Sheffield. Alex Turner is the lead vocalist and also plays lead and rhythm guitar. Jamie Cook (rhythm/ lead guitar), Nick O'Malley (bass, backing vocals) and Matt Helders (drums, backing vocals) are the other band members. AM (named for the band's initials) has been very successful for Arctic Monkeys, including a nomination for the 2013 Mercury Prize for best album.
