Arthur Lee Land dazzles with live looping

Arthur Lee Land at the Java House, downtown Iowa City

In this episode of IPR Studio One's "Java Blend," host Ben Kieffer is joined by Lyons, Colorado-based artist Arthur Lee Land, whose eclectic and dizzying use of live looping has been mesmerizing audiences across the nation.

Listen in below to hear the story of Arthur's ability to re-frame what many deem a disability into a gift, and tap your feet to the joyous music that results.

Arthur Lee Land’s lifelong musical journey has led him to a rare accomplishment in the world of popular music – genuine innovation. Arthur is a Lyons Colorado based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and Live-Looping Artist. He has toured for years as an unforgettable solo act using the Art of Live-Looping to create a “BAND of ONE” by layering acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, guitar synthesizer, bass, African percussion, drum samples, beat boxing and other electronic sonic textures and effects. Describing Land’s latest release Cracked Open results in using genre defying terms like “Electro-Americana” and “Afrograss-Folk Rock.”
