Iowa Public Radio will celebrate Public Radio Music Month on Saturday evenings at 7 with Arias in April. Brought back by popular demand, Iowa Public Radio Classical will present encore broadcasts of the Des Moines Metro Opera’s 40th Anniversary season. We’ll also air again the UNI Opera Theatre’s production of Die Fledermaus and the Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre’s Merry Widow performance.
Our Arias in April series opens with an encore broadcast of the Des Moines Metro Opera’s 2012 presentation of Mozart’s Don Giovanni on Saturday, April 6th. On April 13th IPR’s Arias in April continues with a repeat airing of the DMMO’s production of Puccini’s La Rondine. And we’ll present an encore transmission of the DMMO’s presentation of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin on April 20th.
On April 27th IPR-Classical will present a repeat airing of the UNI Opera Theatre’s production of Johann Strauss the Second’s Die Fledermaus. IPR’s encore Arias in April opera series will conclude on May 4th with the Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre’s production of Lehár’s Merry Widow.
