About the tour:
Italy is a land filled with history, culture, art and romance. There is
no better time than the holiday season to experience the magic of Rome
and Florence.
Collette Vacations will take you on a week long tour to celebrate
the holidays like never before.
The
trip begins in Rome, "the Eternal City." You'll be taken on a tour of
Classical Rome visiting the Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum, the Circus
Maximus, the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine. Contemporary
highlights are also featured, including the legendary Spanish Steps and
the beautiful Trevi Fountain. On one of the evenings you'll get to
attend "Dinner with the Tenors," and enjoy a menu of regional delicacies
and fine Italian wines during a live performance of opera classics.
There'll be plenty of time on the agenda for you to experience some of
Rome's vibrant holiday cheer, or get some holiday shopping done. Rome
has something for every taste from bustling outdoor markets and
craftsman's workshops to high end designer boutiques.
From Rome you will travel to the medieval walled city of Assisi where
you'll be taken on a guided tour of the historic old city featuring the
magnificent Basilica and ponder the spiritual meaning of the holidays in
this church dedicated to St. Francis, founder of the Franciscan order of
monks.
The
last stop on the agenda is the spectacular capital of Tuscany,
Florence. A cultural treasure-trove, Florence is filled with artistic
and architectural gems. A local expert provides a leisurely-paced
walking tour featuring the Piazza Del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa
Maria del Fiore and the Baptistry. You also view the Palazzo Vecchio and
the Church of Santa Croce, burial place of Michelangelo and Galileo.
You'll have the opportunity to explore the city's cultural riches in
Florence's many museums or do last minute holiday shopping. The trip
will conclude with a farewell dinner at a popular local restaurant.
Tour package:
The winner will receive an 8-day "Rome and Florence Holiday" tour
package for two people on November 28 - December 5, 2008. The prize
includes:
- Round-trip air transportation for two from within a Continental US Major Gateway
- Transfers included (from airport to hotel/hotel to airport at the beginning and end of tour)
- Hotel accommodations for 6 nights: Hotel Palatino, Rome (days 2-4) and Grand Hotel Baglioni, Florence (days 5-7)
- 9 meals (6 buffet breakfasts and 3 dinners)
- Excursions during the trip

- Any changes to the reservation once booked are subject to change fees to be paid by the recipient.

How do I enter?
Listeners can enter the drawing by visiting the
QuickPledge page on our website between 12:00 AM CDT on March 14 and
11:59 PM CDT on April 25, 2008 only. Need not make a pledge to be
eligible for drawing.
Selection and
notification of winners:
The grand prize winner will be selected by Public Interactive on May 21,
2008. Station will be notified if they have a winner in their area. At
that time PRI/PI will provide details about booking the trip and making
travel arrangements.
