Vickee Jordan Adams
Vickee J. Adams is Senior Vice President, External Communications at Well Fargo Home Mortgage in West Des Moines. She is responsible for external communications and reputation risk management through proactive media engagement on behalf of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. The external communications team has the responsibility to write, approve and distribute information on behalf of the mortgage organization and in partnership with internal communications, to publish executive communications and build executive advocacy for the Consumer Lending Group. CLG was formed in August of 2011 and combines eight different businesses across the company. The businesses are organized into three main groups including Consumer Credit Solutions, Dealer Services (commercial and consumer auto finance) and Home Lending.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ms. Adams was Senior Vice President and the US Director of Media Communications for Hill & Knowlton. In that role she advised Standard & Poor’s, Deloitte, Hewlett-Packard, AIG, Walmart and Johnson & Johnson, the agency's top clients on media messaging and strategy, particularly in high-stakes communications situations including crisis management, investor relations, and national media campaigns.
Ms. Adams formerly worked for Dow Jones & Company, as the Director of Corporate Communications, serving as a spokesperson with media relations responsibility for The Wall Street Journal, WSJ.com and Dow Jones Newswires. Before that, she was a Senior Vice President at Ketchum Public Relation Relations and Burson-Marsteller. Vickee has deep experience in broadcast news, beginning with an internship at WINS 1010 in Manhattan while in high school. Upon graduation from college, Vickee worked at WAGA-TV in Atlanta, GA and then as an associate director/producer at the Satellite News Channel from 1982-83. She served on the board of WNYC radio (a public radio station in New York City) from 1997-2010, helping to re-structure the enterprise and serving on WNYC’s executive, program and development committees.
Her board positions and volunteer activity include the Central Iowa Diversity Council; Reputation Management Committee for Central Iowa; WNYC Radio; Count Me In For Women’s Economic Independence; and Jack and Jill of America.
She is a recognized moderator and panelist appearing formerly at the Deutsche Bank “Women on Wall Street” conference and as a guest lecturer at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies. A University of Pennsylvania graduate, Vickee lives in Des Moines with her husband while their two sons live and work in New York City.
