Iowa Public Radio's Listening Project
You listen to us, so we're listening to
you!
Fall 2006, Iowa Public Radio completed an ambitious Listening Project designed to better understand the needs and wants of people in the communities we serve. The ultimate goal of the project was to insure that we are providing the best possible public radio service for all of Iowa.
Thanks to all of you who participated. Your passion for public radio is reflected in the numbers:
- 600 General public telephone survey participants
- 818 Member surveys returned
- 624 Internet surveys submitted
- 81 Community conversation participants
You told us what you love about public radio and what could be better. You shared your feelings about the role public radio plays in your life and in the life of your community. You gave us valuable insight into the special relationship you feel with your public radio station. Now that we've listened and heard what you have to say, it was time to get to work.
Here's what happened next:
-
We have analyzed the survey data and the transcripts
from the community conversations, looking for themes and key ideas. The
results have been published in a report that is now available for
download below.

- We have integrated what we've learned from you as we develop IPR's strategic plan. Our vision, mission and key goals for the future are available to view in the "About Us" section.
