Upcoming "Live from Studio One" shows:

Beth Wood
Monday, 6/1 at 7:00 PM

Beth Wood is a modern-day troubadour with a stunning voice, poetic lyrics, and strong guitar stylings. If you ask Beth to describe her music, she might just shrug. Some have called it folk, pop, folk-pop, country-folk, Americana, etc. This Texas native prefers to say it is soulful, organic, free-range, barefoot music delivered through a high energy communicator of joy. Twelve years, thousands of shows, seven albums, three cars, and numerous awards later, Beth's exceptional musicianship, crafty songwriting, and warm stage presence have been winning over audiences from coast to coast.

Finders & Youngberg
Lonesome Traveler Band

Monday, 6/8 at 7:00 PM

Mike and Amy Finders describe their music as "blue folkgrass" and "frontier blues." Mike's songwriting can encompass everything from modern country jam-band sounds to an obvious love for dusty, old Carter family recordings. Amy's full singing voice, more Natalie Merchant than Emmylou Harris, is a perfect counterpart for Mike's tenor, as they blend on tales of river life, beautiful days, and why love--though sometimes bitter--is mostly just sweet. Mike and Amy now live in Colorado, mostly performing with their new group, Finders and Youngberg. Finders and Youngberg is a well-established folk/bluegrass/country musical group, a partnership between two talented couples whose paths have converged to carve a distinct mark. The Finders met The Youngbergs (from Colorado) in Chicago, 2005 while playing with other bands and sharing the billing. Their subsequent musical relationship has grown from random shows in the half-way ground of Nebraska to a Finders' family relocation, a "knock-your-socks-off" recording project, and some outstanding live performances.

Lonesome Traveler Band is an acoustic band from Colorado's front range with a bluegrass driver's license, a certificate of songwriting, and a sheriff's badge of cool. They possess the cracklin' firepower of a six-piece band, yet the grace of a dancer as they weave in and around their condenser microphones, singing, picking, and testifying to the gospel of Americana music. Their songs are squarely in the rich vein of Americana bluegrass, folk, blues, country and Celtic sounds, yet they bring in contemporary metaphors and reflections that are connecting with audiences and radio listeners all across our great nation.
