Event Description

Witness: What does it mean to bear witness to something? How does this idea manifest itself in the visual arts? This exhibition features works from the Augustana Teaching Museum of Art’s collections that consider these topics. In addition, it shares the first-person stories of members of the Quad Cities community through a listening both for The Great Quad Cities Listen, a WVIK project. Herbarium Tales: This exhibition features of the scientific specimens of the herbarium of Augustana, and invites the visitor to explore the intersection between the study of plant biodiversity and the history of the college. It also connects these specimens to works of art that represent the species and places represented by the specimens. This exhibition is guest curated by Dr. Rafael Medina, assistant professor of biology at Augustana College.
