Director of Content and Media - Iowa Public Radio

Description: Iowa Public Radio has made tremendous strides over the past two years, merging three station groups and creating statewide news and classical streams serving the people of Iowa. We're currently welcoming candidates who are eager to build on the strong foundation already established, taking public radio service in Iowa to the next level by connecting communities across the state with the best in news, information, music and cultural programming.

The Director of Content and Media is one of five director positions comprising IPR's senior leadership team, which includes the directors of Development, Finance and Administration, Network Operations and the Deputy Director, all of whom report to the Executive Director. Members of this team accept shared responsibility for providing leadership to the entire organization and agree to hold themselves mutually accountable for IPR's results.

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, managing and continually refining the content strategy for Iowa Public Radio, utilizing broadcast, Internet and other media in support of IPR's vision and mission. The successful candidate will develop new capabilities that expand IPR's relevance as a public media organization connecting people across the state. Success will be measured in terms of enhanced community service and through the developing recognition of IPR as a significant statewide institution.

The successful candidate must be results-oriented, with a demonstrated understanding of broadcasting and digital media, and a vision for these media to be utilized for effective public service, audience development, and revenue growth. Other required qualifications include:
