KICG 91.7 FM, which broadcasts Classical music in Boone and Story counties, will be off the air – Sunday, August 17 through Wednesday, August 20 from 7 am to 7 pm each day – to allow for significant repair work on its tower. This work is being completed by the owners of the tower, not IPR, and includes needed repairs and upgrades to the tower structure.
UPDATE AUGUST 26: KICG has returned to the air and resumed its normal broadcast.
UPDATE AUGUST 25: KICG will be off-air a portion of today, August 25 as well. We have been notified that work should be completed by the end of the day. Thanks again for your patience during this work period.
UPDATE AUGUST 22: Due to work delays caused by rain the past few days, work will continue through Saturday, August 23. We hope to have KICG back on the air by the end of the day on the 23rd.
UPDATE AUGUST 20: Due to work delays caused by today's storms, work will continue through at least 7 pm Thursday, August 21.
We are going off the air during this period to protect the safety of the individuals working on the tower, which is an FCC regulation. Because this work is directed by the tower owner we are unable to control the timing and duration of the off-air time.
We apologize for this interruption but thank you for your patience while this work is completed. We will return Classical 91.7 FM to the air as soon as we are able.
In the meantime, you may listen to IPR Classical through WOI 90.1 HD2 or by streaming online through this link: http://bit.ly/1mRypKb.
