The Des Moines Metro Opera’s 40th Anniversary Season will soon start. Iowa Public Radio’s Performance Iowa will present the DMMO’s sensational last season production of Donizetti’s three-act comic masterpiece, Don Pasquale. The musical fun features Tenor Taylor Stayton singing the role of the lover, Ernesto. Soprano, Zulimar López-Hernández performs the character of Ernesto’s beloved, Norina. Baritone and Iowa native John Moore, sings the part of Dr. Malatesta. Bass Rod Nelman performs the title role of Don Pasquale.
Performance Iowa’s taped broadcast of the DMMO’s 2011 humorous presentation of Don Pasquale starts at 4 p.m. with Michael Borowitz conducting.
